An engine-driven air compressor supplies the air-ride rear suspension system, which features automatic self-leveling to compensate for tow load. An external air-hose coupler is also provided. A roof-mounted camera provides a view of the bed for hitching assistance and has provision for three additional switchable inputs.
The cabin features air-ride suspension to isolate it from the chassis and is trimmed with black leather, grey carpet and plastics, and wood-look accents. Bostrom captain’s chairs feature air-powered suspension and height adjustment, pneumatic lumbar support, heating, and fully-reclining backrests. The cabin measures 60” in height according to the seller, and also houses a power-reclining “mini-sofa” rear seat with folding armrests. The floor-mounted center console features storage compartments and cup holders as well as 12V and 110V power supplies. A ceiling console houses low-level LED lighting, a storage compartment, and a rear-facing retractable 19” monitor which does not currently receive power. Dual roof-mounted air horns are operated by a lanyard hanging from the ceiling.
Dash switches control the power windows and door locks, 2-stage engine brake, mirror heaters, air-bleed rear suspension lowering system, back-up camera, and bed lighting. The factory infotainment system includes a Pioneer touchscreen, DVD player, auxiliary input, camera display, GPS navigation, and XM/Sirius w/subscription
Power is from a pre-DEF 7.2-liter Mercedes-Benz MBE900 turbodiesel inline-six which features a 2,500 rpm redline and 30 psi of peak boost in factory spec and was rated at 330 horsepower with 1000 lb-ft of torque when new. The manual for the MBE900 specifies a 500k-mile rebuild interval according to the seller. The engine is mated to an Allison TRV3200 6-speed automatic transmission with computerized gear selection and no-lift shifting. Twin saddle-mounted fuel tanks provide a total capacity of 160 gallons. Braking is from a standard hydraulic system with 4-wheel disc brakes and Bosch ABS. The truck does not utilize air brakes, though exhaust and compression braking systems are equipped along with an air-actuated driveshaft arrestor parking brake.
